Fantasy Brown is an Indian stone. This is one of the most sought after materials in India. This has a beige, brown, white background with brown, blue, and sometimes purple veining and a cloudy pattern. This is mainly used for kitchen countertops, work tables, and floors.
Most of the people are confused that it should be called marble or it should be called granite. This has all the similarities to marble and granite. Here we try to find out what exactly it is.

The physical test of this stone suggests that it has a lot of calcium carbonate. Calcium carbonate is one of the main elements of any stone to be marble. This stone has a lot of calcium carbonate with silica. But it also has a very good percentage of quartz. This quartz makes the stone more difficult to cut. However, the percentage of quartz is not much and this material is cut on a marble saw. The cutting of this stone is not very difficult and we can cut this stone on a normal marble saw. This is one of the reasons why it is more of a marble than a granite.
Physical exam
The physical test of this stone suggests that the hardness of this stone is below the level of granite. This is an easy stone to cut. The shine of this material after polishing is not like that of granite. Granite is a very hard material due to the richness of quartz. The hardness makes the material more polished. The polishing of this marble is done in marble polishing machines. No heavy granite polishers required. Also during polishing, this material has been found to have a large portion of mud. Normally, during granite polishing, the sludge portion is much less, but Fantasy Brown expels a lot of sludge due to its softness towards hard abrasives. Fantasy brown does not have the strength found in granite. It should be packed with the net at the back, as it is a soft and brittle material. The mesh binds this material together and does not allow it to crack.
Apart from the chemical and physical test, the appearance of this beautiful stone is more like marble. Unlike granite, it has different patterns and colors. Granite is more consistent in patterns.
