Don’t let your beauty be killed by deadly silent skin care products! There is so much controversy about facial skin care products that contain harmful chemicals that will damage our skin and even internal organs.

Do you know what ingredients are used by famous brands and companies to produce products like cleansers, toners, moisturizers, serums, and sunscreens, etc.? We use facial products because we want to care for and protect our face. However, without any knowledge of the harmful ingredients, we are actually risking our healthy skin.

Most of us might have read about painfully long lists of harmful chemicals and reminded ourselves to be careful with them. But many times, we don’t remember them, right? As such, I have compiled a list of hazardous chemicals that are commonly found in many facial skin care products.

Without the hassle of memorizing a long list of long and complicated chemical names, you can simply see if chemicals are used to produce your skin care products.

1. Alcohols (propyl, isopropyl, denatured alcohol/SD-alcohol)

They dehydrate your skin in the long run and cause blemishes.

2. Parabens (methyl, butyl, ethyl, propyl)

They are toxic and will cause skin allergies.

3. Fragrance

It irritates the skin and causes headaches and lung problems.

4. Mineral oil

It causes skin irritations by clogging the pores. Prolonged use can cause cancer.

5. Glycerin

It draws moisture from the lower layers of the skin, causing the lower layers to dry out. This easily happens if the air humidity is below 65%.

6. Propylene glycol

Causes eye and skin irritation. Prolonged use can cause liver abnormalities and kidney damage.

7. Triethanolamine (TEA)

It causes allergies, irritates the eyes and dries out the skin.

8. Silicone emollients (dimethicone, cyclomethicone)

They clog the pores and prevent the skin from breathing.

9. Synthetic colorants (FD&C Red No. 6, CI 14700/RED 4)

They are carcinogens that affect nerve transmission in the brain, causing genetic damage. So look up your skincare products, check the ingredients, and decide whether or not to use them.
