When selecting a home pressure washer, there are a few things you need to know. First there are units at Wal-Mart for as little as $80.00 and while they aren’t durable quality, if you’re only going to wash your car once or twice a month they will work just fine. If you plan on using it around the house from time to time and cleaning your car twice a month, you might want to spend $180-$250 on a pretty decent electric one or $250-$350 on a gas unit.

A good direct drive pressure washer with a 5-8 hp Honda engine costs about 2K, but if these groups only use it for one day, they can buy the Home Depot/Sears/Price Club special for about $250 -350. These units make great pressure washers for car wash fundraisers or cleaning crews at a business. You can even donate them to use at your child’s next fundraiser car wash.

I recommend if you want a real quality unit that you look at the excel pressure washers at home depot and expect to spend around $500 to $600 and try to get one with a Honda engine, at least 2250 Psi and a non direct drive pump. but It has a gearbox between the motor and the pump. Think about this in 2006.
