When in the course of human events it becomes necessary to take action to rectify those crises that have continued to subjugate the population to wallow in despair praying for better times to come. Desperate times call for desperate measures. And that is what we have here and what we are being asked to do today. It’s a shame that so many people have their heads in the sand without realizing the enormity of how bad things really are. The denial structure is an all too common trait, especially among the Republican Party.

What this current health crisis has done has blasted holes in the already very fragile framework of our economy, exposed the deep divisions in our society, and shown that we have had a leadership failure for far too long. Prior to this pandemic, contrary to what the pulpits or should we say puppets say, the US economy and our social fabric are rapidly deteriorating at a rate faster than anyone has noticed. The state of denial, especially by members of Congress and their lack of support for citizens, is well documented. His inability to provide financial aid when America needs it most is a testament to his boldness.

The complexity of today’s events has increased our lack of concern for a unifying factor that would bring this nation together. When Space X put four on the International Space Station, when a vaccine is now about to be released amid a president who will not concede demonstration cases of how unifying factors are overshadowed by distracting forces. When it comes to our economy or what’s left of it, there’s also a set of unifying factors, but they’re all part of the distracting forces in our congress. These distracting forces actually create more division in our society.

Millions of people who are trapped and see no way out of the cycle and the circumstances they find themselves in have been denied for years the opportunity to allow themselves to relinquish the yoke of oppression that is still imposed by the policies of our own government. In the past year, we have seen the ugly head of the Trump Administration’s tyranny and influence collateral damage to the health of nations and our economy. The pandemic has only accelerated the growing divide that continues to harm America’s health, security, and stability.

If we don’t realize what is really happening to our society when we have elected officials polarizing the country instead of coming to terms with unification, America will be a nation that has truly lost its way. And that is the American tragedy that is already unfolding on the world stage. Is this our destiny, or are we mentally equipped to address the issues and crises that are destroying the very framework our founding fathers forged for this nation? Implementation of the Ten Articles of Confederation of National Economic Reform as a roadmap for our future is vital to America’s future.
