Clemson(-8) VS. NC STATE: Clemson (-7) VS. NC STATE: Clemson is in an unfavorable position as a favorite, going just 11-24-1 ATS as a favorite against conference opponents in its last 36 such games. Clemson can move the ball, but they give opposing offenses a good amount of yardage. NC State is decent offensively, so this should be a close one. Add in the fact that State is a local underdog and it’s clear he needs to go with Woflpack. THE SELECTION: (North Carolina State +7)

******MARINE(-10) VS. Duke: ***** BEST BET!

UNIVERSITY OF BOSTON (-28.5) VS. Army: The Eagles are in a deadlock here after a big win over Georgia Tech last week. Quarterback Matt Ryan has been amazing for BC all season and the defense has been very effective in stopping opposing offenses. The key money issue here centers on the fact that Boston College rates in a disappointing 14-38-3 ATS situation. The army is skilled enough to only lose by 24. THE PICK: Army (+27)

WAKE FOREST (-3) VS. Maryland: Wake gets a boost this week when quarterback Riley Skinner returns to a better-than-average offense. The Deamon Deacons aren’t the most profitable team as a favorite, so be careful here, but they have a very good defense that will further impede a terrible Maryland offense. Wake usually plays very well at home so he gives up the points. THE PICK: Wake Forest (-3.5)

GREAT EAST

*******WEST VIRGINIA(-24) VS. East Carolina****** STRONG OPINION

******PITTSBURGH(-8) VS. UConn****** STRONG OPINION

CINCINNATI(-22) VS. Marshall: The Thundering Herd are in the midst of a really horrible season and that point was made clear last week when they lost to New Hampshire! Cincinnati, on the other hand, is racking up points by the bucketload and should continue to do so here against a very weak Marshall defense. After such a humiliating loss, confidence will be in short supply for the Flock and teams that lose to a D-II team will end up just 9-27 ATS next week. Go with the most confident Bearcats. THE SELECTION: Cincinnati (-23.5)

BIG TEN

Illinois (-3) VS. INDIANA: Indiana is a hometown disadvantage here against an improving Illinois team. Illinois’ passing offense has been better than advertised, as quarterback Juice Williams is showing increased accuracy and a great arm. The defense has also played well and has kept the team going in all their games. However, Indiana qualifies as a home underdog after a win scenario that has produced an ATS record of 132-70-4. Go with the home improvement underdog. THE TEAM: Indiana (+2.5)

Michigan State (-13.5) VS. NOTRE DAME: It’s absolutely amazing that ND goes over 10 points at home against anyone, but the Irish are playing at a record pace of offensive futility. QB Jimmy Clausen hasn’t been the answer and the offensive line is atrocious. Michigan State has had its ups and downs this season, but they are much more complete on both sides of the ball to take this one easily. The state also qualifies in an ATS 133-55-3 situation that takes into account its statistical advantages. THE PICK: Michigan State (-12)

*****WISCONSIN(-7.5) VS. Iowa***** STRONG OPINION

BIG 12

******NEBRASKA(-21.5) VS. Ball State*** STRONG OPINION

******KANSAS(-32.5) VS. Florida International***** STRONG OPINION

****** Texas Tech (-6) VS. STATE OF OKLAHOMA*** STRONG OPINION

TEXAS(-38.5) VS. Rice: That’s a lot of points to give to anyone, but the Longhorns are ready to go. Quarterback Colt McCoy has struggled so far this season, but Rice’s horrendous defense should be just what they need to get going offensively. Texas is also a profitable heavy favorite under coach Mack Brown, as they are now 13-4 ATS as 28-plus-point favorites. THE PICK: Texas (-38.5)

Iowa State (-3.5) VS. TOLEDO: Toledo has been horrible in their first three games as they have gone 0-3 ATS and been outscored by an average of 23-50. Iowa State will come in confident after nearly beating a good Iowa State team last week and they should use their strong running game to control the clock and put Toledo on their heels. Iowa State is also playing very well defensively and that’s bad news for a weak Toledo offense that can’t seem to find its rhythm. THE SELECTION: (Iowa -3.5)

UNITED STATES CONFERENCE

CENTRAL FLORIDA(-7) VS. Memphis: UCF is in great shape here as they have played hard in all three of their games this season. Coach George O’Leary really has this team clicking on all cylinders and they must handle a weak Memphis team that is only 6-23 ATS after a win. UCF will be able to run with a smooth running defense from Memphis and therefore control the game at all times. THE PICK: Central Florida (-7)

******TCU(-19.5) VS. SMU’S BEST BET******!

INDEPENDENT

BOWLING GREEN (-20.5) VS. Temple – Temple is starting to show signs of being an improved team as they lost by just 5 to UConn last week despite being a 29.5 underdog. Bowling Green has struggled to score at times this season and thus many points to give to an improving team combined with their offensive ineptitude. THE SELECTION: Temple (+21)

AMERICAN MIDDLE

Kent State (-3.5) VS. AKRON: Akron is shortlisted as one of the worst offenses in college football, while Kent State has played well on that side of the ball. State has two big weapons in QB Julian Edelman and RB Eugene Jarvis and they should find plenty of room to maneuver against a weak Akron defense. When both sides of the ball favor one team, he chooses them to cover. THE PICK: Kent State (-2.5)

WEST MOUNTAIN

*******BYU(-9.5) VS. Air Force******** STRONG OPINION

******* Oregon (-16.5) VS. STANFORD*****THE BEST CHOICE!

UCLA(-5.5) VS. WASHINGTON: The UCLA Bruins were absolutely embarrassed last week when they were run over by a terrible team from Utah. The Washington Cougars also fell unevenly last week as they were handed out at home against a tough Ohio State team. UCLA clearly comes into play in a lousier mood and surely they must be questioning themselves after such an unforgivable loss. UCLA also ranked in a very negative ATS situation of 18-59-1 after its loss last week. Go with the home team that isn’t in the dumps as much. THE SELECTION: Washington (+6)
