The other day, I was at Starbucks and I was talking to a man who was quite distressed as he was going through all the ads in the paper looking for a job. He had gone into Starbucks because of the air conditioning, grabbed the paper from the “already read” rack, bought the cheapest coffee of the day, and pulled out his highlighter and a yellow pad. Personally, he applauds this level of hard work to find a job, instead of simply collecting unemployment benefits. Okay, so let’s talk about this, okay?

You see, the gentleman in question had run out of his unemployment benefits and is therefore not counted in the 8.2% unemployment rate, but he is definitely out of a job and stressed to the max. As I talked with him and gave him suggestions for places to go to find work on this side of our Valley, he admitted to me that he hadn’t slept much that night. I told him he could always listen to the late-night radio, and he said yes, but the only really good shows were conspiracy theory shows, and that wasn’t doing him any good either.

He was working hard to maintain his mental sanity, but what he really needed was a psychological boost and a way to get a good night’s sleep so he would be alert, motivated and ready to look for work during the day. The bills were piling up, and if the stress didn’t kill him, he’d soon be homeless pushing a shopping cart. This got me thinking that we need more late-night talk shows that are positive, things that talk about innovation, small business issues, the economy, and what’s going on in the political structure.

People need to be able to understand the world, but it’s hard enough when politicians say one thing and the economy responds by doing another. Many people who can’t find work should probably be thinking about starting their own business, or maybe they’ve had a lot of free time to think of an innovative new concept they can bring to market, so they can achieve their goals. dreams and life goals.

Wouldn’t it be great if there were more of these types of late-night talk shows dealing with the positive nature of free markets, small business, and then maybe we could get our economy moving again with or without the help of the podium? pushing politicians. In fact, I hope you will please consider all of this and think about it.
