The LA Weight Loss Centers menu program ranges from 1,200 calories to 2,400 calories and is divided into three phases. Follow the national recommendation of fifty to fifty-five percent carbohydrate intake, twenty-five to thirty percent protein, and twenty to twenty-five percent fat. It also emphasizes moderation control. The plan does not prohibit the eating of any food.

This diet plan has three phases. The first phase is designed for weight loss. The dieter is given a calorie level based on the quiz date and customized to their personal needs. The phase recommends that the dieter see their dieter’s counselor three times a week for support, coaching, and supervision in food choices.

The second phase includes a stabilization period that would last six weeks. Clients advance to this phase the moment they reach their weight loss goals. The amount of calories to eat is gradually increased. Once again, this will be based on client development.

The third phase is the maintenance stage. where the dieter is encouraged to consult the counselor once a week and stay on the program for a maximum period of one year so that the lost weight is not regained.

Below is a sample meal plan recommended by said diet plan:

o For breakfast, the dieter can eat ¾ cup of corn flakes, eight ounces of skim milk, and ¾ cup of blueberries.
o For lunch, the dieter can have four ounces of tuna in water, one tablespoon of light mayonnaise, one slice of 1 rye bread, and ¼ cup of watermelon
o For dinner, the dieter can eat four ounces of shrimp, one cup of green beans, and one tablespoon of low-fat margarine.
o The dieter can have snacks between meals and the snacks can consist of a combination of LA lite lemon, a small banana and eight ounces of light yogurt; or one LA lite chocolate candy and half a cup of cottage cheese
