Ok, being from New York City, maybe it’s just my personal hope. With Game 6 of the World Series fast approaching, many around the world are truly obsessed with baseball. Whether it’s football, soccer, basketball, hockey, or cricket, when those seasons roll around, we all know someone who has the fever of the sport. People will do anything, even the unspeakable, to get tickets to big sporting events. How can we capitalize on this crush on charity auctions?

You may not be able to get World Series tickets, but you may be able to get seats for a minor league team in your area. Minor league sports teams are more likely to donate premium tickets and may offer a tour and a chance to meet a player. Many of the fans are just part-time gamers and are more open to publicity, they really enjoy their newfound celebrity status. Even though they are minor league players and more accessible to fans, some play professional sports and become well known.

You may be able to purchase an individually signed ball from a major league team, but it may be easier to get a ball signed by the entire team in the minor leagues. Packaged with premium tickets to the game and possibly a tour, it increases the value of the item to the potential bidder. There are many ways to do this. Be creative.

In addition to tickets, there are opportunities that can be donated, such as riding a Zamboni at a hockey game, sitting with a sportscaster at a game, throwing a pitch, singing the national anthem, getting a personal announcement at a game, a call call a prominent player, become a hitter or ball boy, or sit with the players. The ideas are endless and they are all unique, unique experiences for sports enthusiasts.
