Are you crazy about designer bags? I have been since I was a teenager. I would read fashion magazines and dream of buying all those beautiful designer handbags. I’m still dreaming of having them all these years later!
Okay, I admit I’ve fallen behind on bills so I can buy a sexy new bag, but still, I draw the line of paying more than $1,000 on one. Well, okay, I’ve never spent so much.
But hey, I can still dream! Looking around online one day last weekend, I was shocked at how expensive some of them are! They are certainly out of the price range of most of us “normal” people. So I thought I’d check how much the most expensive bags cost.
Fendi is my favorite designer when it comes to bags. Somehow they always seem to get it right. Their “B.Bag” is one of the most popular high-end designer bags among those who can afford it. The $30,000 price is too far out of my price range, unfortunately.
Another bag that I adore is the Herme “Birkin” bag. They get copied a lot, but copies can never really capture the elegance and quality of the real thing. But given that the originals cost upwards of $20,000, it’s understandable why they’re copied so often. However, they are so exclusive that you have to specially order them. And then the cost depends on the materials and hardware you choose for your custom bag. I guess I’d better start looking for a rich husband if I really have to have one of those!
There is another bag that I would love to have. She is the “Muse” of Yves Saint Laurent. The design is quite similar to a bowling bag, actually. I saw my first one at Saks in New York City, and I’ve been wanting one ever since! My material of choice would be a beautiful white alligator. If I had an extra $20,000 burning a hole in my pocket, that’s what I’d buy. Oh wait, I want that Birkin bag too… Hey let’s go shopping girlfriend!
