I bought a bagel this morning and for the first time I saved the 75 cents instead of throwing it in the tip jar. What is this world coming to? A few weeks ago, the idea of saving a few bucks for parking was a far cry from my opulent lifestyle.

With the sky falling around our ears, helmet sales must be through the roof. Times are tough and I need to say quite stressful. Many of us are feeling the crisis. People use a variety of outlets to channel the pressure in their lives. One of the most common is taking a vacation.

While it may seem counterintuitive to consider a vacation in such difficult times, I submit that taking a vacation is the most important thing. And while we all want to save our pennies (or quarters in my case), I suggest you can kick back and still keep a few coins in your pocket.

There are some new travel sites on the web that bring the best of both worlds together. Most of these sites are linked to the timeshare industry. The word timeshare may conjure up images of used car sales figures, but these days most vacation ownership companies are fairly legitimate and concerned about their public image. Many offer great mini-vacation packages that include extras like free golf, dinner for two, or even fuel certificates in exchange for attending a resort presentation with your significant other. One such website that caught my eye recently is Vacation-Offer.com

My fiancé and I went on a romantic weekend getaway to New Hampshire and to be honest, despite my initial concerns, they didn’t hold back on the romantic part when we arrived. Charlene and I had a great time and the stunning views of her weren’t a garbage pit like I was worried about. In fact, we enjoyed dinner as they said with a murderous look over the lakes, mountains and foliage.

As far as the tour, there really wasn’t too much pressure to buy, although after the time there we honestly considered it. I would definitely recommend taking a trip like this and I know I’ll be trying another place in the near future. Maybe the Myrtle Beach golf getaway, the photos certainly looked good.
