In my family, the Easter holidays are very important. In most families, unless the family is very religious, Easter is something that happens without warning. You can hunt down some Easter eggs, eat a chocolate Easter bunny, and eat chicken and eggs for lunch, but that’s about it. My mom, however, has turned Easter bunnies into a religion.

When we were kids, our parents used to dress up as Easter bunnies. We were smart kids, we recognized them in costumes, but we loved that they were playing fantasy with us. We also enjoyed getting delicious chocolate Easter bunnies when they were dressed up! Nothing compares to a chocolate Easter bunny in the minds of children around the world. Not only are they cute, shiny, and substantial, but they’re made entirely of chocolate! We would also get Cadbury cream eggs, colorful Easter cards, and a chance to place Easter decorations with our parents. However, the most enjoyable part of the day was the Easter egg hunt.

Easter bunnies: the setup

My parents actually prepared everything: the exciting Easter egg hunt, the decorations, the food, dressed up as Easter bunnies. To some people, this may seem a bit strange, but for us kids, it was one of the most delicious things you can imagine. Watching your mom and dad grow big, fluffy, give a hug, and give bunnies is something any kid could appreciate!

Easter Bunnies: Memories You Can Never Forget

Every year the Easter egg hunt was different. My parents had traditions, but they didn’t exactly have routines to follow. No two years were exactly the same because they could never remember how they did the whole year before. Some years, the Easter bunnies would invite all of our friends and family, and we would have an Easter egg hunt that could beat anything else in the world. Other years, on the other hand, it was a pretty small affair. Sometimes during rainy days all the Easter eggs were hidden inside the house. Other years, we would finish the egg hunt early so our “Easter bunnies” could take us to the zoo where we could see real rabbits. The only thing the different years had in common was that it was always about Easter and it was always about having fun. The Easter holidays are some of my warmest childhood memories, memories that will never be forgotten.
