Mastiffs are huge and any owner of one can vouch for the amount of food they will buy per week to keep them fed. However, one problem many homeowners will run into is when they are going through a timid stage in life. I know this can be a very challenging time for the owner, but you will want to do everything you can to get your Mastiff out of its shy stage before it becomes a stone in your dog’s habit. This is what I had to do when my puppy went through this same phase and how I managed to get him out of this stage.

The way I found that it worked best to help me help my pup was through socialization. I know many people are probably wondering what I mean by this because with other dogs they just have to invite friends to get the right amount, but mastiffs are very different.

When I was working on socializing my puppy, I would often take him to various parks in the area. I know some people don’t have easy access to parks, but if you can take them to one at least once a week for thirty minutes per trip, you should see a significant change. I know that for me the closest park with a lot of traffic is about twenty minutes away. However, I found that when I took him to the park it worked very well to give him the proper socialization he needed and helped him with his shy stage.
